Never underestimate the sheer amount of fun to be had in New England. The number of things to do from history and museums to events and attractions can be mind-boggling, even for seasoned New Englanders.

This is why we’ve broken down the fun into categories:

Day Trips

After living here our entire lives, we have the most fun when we take day trips — all over New England. Every part of the region is easily accessible by car and most locations are within a few hours away. Even if you plan overnight trips, you can still break up your time into day trips.

Here are some favorites: Finding Magic in Providence, RI, Discovering Portland, Maine, and Wanderlust in Woodstock, VT.

All day trip guides are written by locals who know the best things to do and places to eat in each area.

Fun Activities

New England has a lot of fun seasonal activities that happen in multiple states. We round them up for you so you can find the best activities no matter where you are.
