When you visit the farmer’s market, do you see celery root but often pass it over because you’re not sure what to do with it? Celery root or celeriac is literally the root of the celery plant. It lends a mild, celery like flavor to dishes but knowing how to cook with it isn’t obvious at first glance.

Thankfully, Sylvie from the beautiful blog, Gourmande in the Kitchen was willing to share with us one of her delicious and healthy recipes using celery root. It’s so good, it might even replace your holiday mashed potatoes (or at least provide a lighter alternative).
