Since the discovery of America, Cod has been an important commodity in New England. In fact, cod fish is so significant to New England that the Massachusetts House of Representatives hangs a wooden cod, known as the ‘Sacred Cod‘ in it’s chambers. Cod was the states first industry and an important source of wealth for the state.  Cod has a dense, white, flaky flesh, is highly nutritious and is delicious to eat.
